It is located to a few stables of the center of the port, in the ancient part of the city and it treats of a natural scene shaped by cliffs. Place intrepid native where they show to the tourist the skill of his bold profession, being thrown to the emptiness from a height of 35 meters.

Indescribable spectacle

On having entered to the water the clifft diver, only it has 4 meters and a half to free the blow and not to smash against the rocky bottom, to a speed of 80 ó 90 kilometres per hour.

This spectacle that has been seen by million tourists began with a bet between fishermen, as far back as in 1934, to see the one who was throwing fixed from the highest of the cliff that hides a small inlet.

The first registeredclifft diver that threw itself from 35 meters of height, was Rigoberto Apak Ríos. An arm hurt itself and nevermore it returned to be thrown. He was followed By Roberto Navarrete “El Lobo” and then Rafael Alvarado “ The Chango” and so on consolidated the tradition.

Nowadays there are 33 clifft divers between the 10 and 56 years of age. All of them work often hurt since the risks are great.

La Quebrada is one of the tourist zones most visited of the world, which has served as scene of national and foreign movies.

In this exhibition, the clifft divers do ostentation of value, force and skill on having be thrown to the emptiness from a cliff of more than 45 meters of height, when the tide returns against the rocks and have sufficient depth to realize the jumps. Some of the fixed ones that they effect are simple, whereas others they are complicated pirouettes or are accompanied by big torches.

The spectators can spy the spectacle from the small square of the Gully in the following schedules: 12:45:00 hrs. 19:30 hrs – 20:30 hrs, 21:30 hrs and 22:30 hrs. (With torch).
